The sphere is embedded with the inverted image of David Bowie. His face was caste from a copy mold of a Bowie plaster life mask.
The irises of both eyes in the sculpture are tubes that transect the interior of the sphere - opening out on the opposite side. Prior to each presentation, green acrylic paint is poured into the right eye and blue into the left; each eye pour corresponding to David Bowies famously mismatched Iris coloration. The paint that is poured into the eyes spills out the back openings onto the wood leaving a permanent stain.
