(2010) Kool Aid, memory foam dyed with UV sensitive acryllics, and black dye, water pump, pipe, fiberglass, wood, polyurethane, acrylic tanks
The kool aid is pumped from the acrylic tanks up through the center of the sculpture; emptying onto the top layer of the dyed memory foam. The liquid soaks through each layer and eventually seeps back down into the acrylic tanks. The memory foam is dyed the color pattern of a breaking dawn.
This image was taken after two months of Kool Aid circulation. Eventually the memory foam will be completely stained a dark purple and black with white sugar crystals staining the foam.
